DEAR PRISONER, SATURDAY 03 JUNE AND/OR SUNDAY 04 JUNE YOU WILL BE STANDING, HOPEFULLY COMPLETELY PREPARED, WAITING FOR THE SIGNAL TO ESCAPE. YOUR PARTICIPATION FOR THE 4TH EDITION OF THE GREAT ESCAPE CAN START. A SUCCESS STORY CAN ONLY BE WRITTEN PROVIDING THERE IS ENOUGH PLANNING AND COMMITMENT. FOLLOWING ARE A COUPLE OF FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS WHICH ARE WORTH READING…..

The registrations

Is there a registration limit?
Yes, since it’s the fourth edition and a lot is done by volunteers, the quality is more important than the quantity. So sign up soon!

On the 19th of May at 23.59h the registrations will close?
Indeed, treating the administration takes time and the week before the event everyone helps with the structure. Don’t forget: Everyone from the organization is a volunteer…

Why is so much information asked?
Mainly for statistics, to have an idea of where everyone comes from who is participating in our event. This is important for our future sponsors. And the more sponsors we have, the cheaper it gets. On the other hand the emergency number is dialed in case you dislike an obstacle. The email address is used to complete the registration.

How do I register as a group?
You define a team leader and this person completes the entries for everyone in the group. Make sure to have all the needed information from your team mates beforehand. The group discount only applies from 8 people and only for the recreational competition.

What is the group’s discount?
The group discount has come to let everyone make use of the usual discount. This means that the group discount equals a discount of 5 euros per person. If you are with 8 then you get a group discount of €40.

If I am already registered entirely (payed and confirmed) but someone else wants to join our group, is this still possible?
Yes:
You register yourself the same wave, and then note down in the foreseen place on the registration form the name of the group that you would like to enter in.
If this has not been adjusted, when the participants list comes online, then please send an email to info@run2escape.be
Note: This person can only enjoy the individual discount and no longer the group discount.

I would like to be with someone else in the same wave, but they have already registered.
Je kan enkel meedoen bij diegene die deelneemt in de latere wave. Vb: iemand zit in wave 2 en iemand in wave 4: Je kan enkel deelnemen in wave 4.

Before the run

Is there any parking available?
Try to come with the public transport, this way you avoid that your car could be used as an obstacle. If this is not possible, then park your car at the Watersportbaan.

Where do I collect my number?
Note: When you arrive it’s better you do this first!

Saturday as of 08h30 and Sunday as of 09h30 you can collect your number at the secretary. The secretary is situated on the event field and will be indicated with arrows. What you surely need to bring: Your ID card and Appendix A. But also your membership card for the association for which you should get a discount: Student card…

When everything is checked, you will receive an envelope

In this envelope there are safety pins, a chip and your number.
You must return the chip at the finish, if lost then you must pay €25. So make sure it is attached well!

What clothing is recommended?
It is an obstacle run so your clothes and shoes can get damaged. The better the obstacle is overcome, the less chance of damaging to the clothing.
Foresee the necessary reserve clothing and possibly also shower supplies. There will be a cloakroom.
The ideal ‘Obstacle run clothing’ consists out of old running shoes, long fitted running trousers (stretch) and a t-shirt or running shirt.

Will there be changing rooms?
There will be tents and/or changing rooms foreseen for both men as women. After the competition you can go to the changing rooms with showers.

Where can we leave our bags during the competition?
There are tents foreseen, here you can deposit your bag, with baggage label. You can find the baggage label in your registration envelope.

Where is the start?
Nearby. Follow the arrows ‘start’ at the same event field.

How does the start work?
To give everyone the chance to overcome obstacles at their own pace, we avoid a mass start.

A wave leaves every 20 minutes. A wave consists out of maximum 150 participants. Your start time will be communicated on time via email (e-mail address from the registration). Make sure you come on time: 15 minutes before your start time you can go to your part of the start. Taking into account possible crowds you must arrive early enough to complete your registration process (see ‘Where do I collect my number?’)

The run

Is er bevoorrading voorzien tijdens de wedstrijd? Will there be refreshments during the run?
Half way and at the finish there will be refreshments with water and sports drink thanks to Decathlon and Farys.

After the run

Will there be showers?
Showers and toilets are FREE. It goes without saying that you have respect for the person coming after you and leave everything clean and tidy. Check everything when you leave the dressing rooms: we are not responsible for theft, damage or lost clothing articles and relatives.
